History of Asia Hyperbaric Centre (AHC)

Asia Hyperbaric Center Company Limited is the first company to import and develop clinical hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment in Hong Kong. Incorporate a state-of-the-art hyperbaric system, hyperbaric physicians, hyperbaric technicians and hyperbaric nursing team that our facility is configured and staffed to support most of the ambulatory elective referral.

Hyperbaric Medical Treatments

A technology developed from treating of decompression sickness which found that when under control pressurization with inhale of oxygen, recover rate of damage human tissue would be improved significantly. Such treatment for wound has been proven very successful both in the western society and Mainland China.
Many successful recovery cases we experienced, encourage us to further develop and promote these HBO treatment and believe is to the benefit of wound care patients. However, due to our charge cannot be comparable to the rates in mainland China. We position ourselves in this sector as a highly safe facilitiescenter with well-trained chamber operators according to western standard.

Mechanisms Of Action

  1. Increasing the partial pressure of oxygen is the main therapeutic value of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  2. When a patient breathes pure oxygen at three times atmospheric pressure, arterial oxygen pressures in excess of 2000mmHg are possible, which is approximately 20 times higher than normal. This is bactericidal to clostridium perfringens, stops toxin production in gas gangrene, and more rapidly displaces carbon monoxide from hemoglobin, reducing possible neurological damage.
  3. The diffusion distance of oxygen increases two to three times under hyperbaric conditions in the hypoperfused wound. This restores tissue oxygen tensions back to appropriate levels.
  4. The processes that are essential for wound healing are oxygen dependent. Fibroblast proliferation, collagen production, neovascularization and enhanced WBC function create a rich vascular bed for healing with or without skin grafting.
  5. HBOT activates neutrophils to become "bactericidal maniacs".
  6. HBOT reduces reperfusion injury.
